Founded in 2001 by eight shareholders, Capes Sokol is a prominent business and litigation law firm based in St. Louis, MO. What began with 20 employees has since grown to over 40 attorneys and nearly 70 total staff.
Like many mid-sized firms, Capes Sokol relies heavily on technology to serve clients and support its legal professionals, while maintaining a thoughtful approach to adopting new solutions.
Deborah Trachsel, the firm’s Executive Director, joined in 2006 and has played a key role in guiding its growth and evolution, including navigating the challenges of the recent pandemic. With a background in litigation coordination, she eventually found her passion in law firm operations and administration.
That same year, Capes Sokol partnered with Circle Management Group (CMG) to optimize their use of Timeslips and Peachtree (now Sage 50). Led by Laura Kennedy, the CMG team worked to integrate these platforms, empowering Deborah to manage attorney expenses better and generate accurate financial reports for firm leadership.
