Circle Management Group (CMG) traces its origins back to 2000, when Kelly Plunkett (formerly of Information Services Associates) met Laura Kennedy (formerly of McCord Consulting) at a legal technology software conference in Dallas, TX. Kelly, a lead trainer for a major billing platform, and Laura, equipped with a master’s degree in computer education, quickly bonded over their shared passion for technology, problem-solving, and client service. Their connection sparked a collaboration that would lay the foundation for CMG.
In 2001, at another industry conference, Kelly met Ken Kennedy (formerly of Law2000), a respected consultant and SQL trainer. Ken’s deep technical expertise and collaborative spirit made him a trusted advisor and soon, a close friend.
Around the same time, Andrea Giltner (formerly of Automated Office Solutions) was also forming meaningful relationships with Kelly, Laura, and Ken. Known for her innovative ideas, sharp technical skills, and quick wit, Andrea became both a valued colleague and lifelong friend to the group.
In 2005, Kelly introduced Laura to Ken when she needed help with a custom SQL report for a client. Their collaboration proved so powerful that the trio presented a workshop titled “The Benefits of Consultants Working Together.” The idea resonated, and a year later, in 2006, Circle Management Group was officially formed.
While Andrea had been a strategic partner since the beginning, she formally joined the leadership team as the fourth partner in 2021.
