Law Firm Tech Resolution #1: Upgrading to Office 365

The new year is in full swing at Circle Management Group and we could not be more excited about what’s to come!

Last week, we broke down the top five most common New Year Resolutions we’ve heard from our clients. In case you missed the full list you can read it here.

First, is increasing your firm’s overall profit. Ken Kennedy did a great job of breaking down the links between software, productivity, and profit in his article: Software and Profit. Implementing some of his tools and ideas, we expect it to be easier than you may think to increase your overall profit margins.

Another common resolution we have heard among our clients is upgrading to Office 365. This is a move that many law firms have made in the past few years and we expect this trend to continue to grow into 2019 and beyond. Are you wondering if this move might be right for you? Here are some of the top reasons firms move to Office 365 for you to consider as you make your decision:

1. Accessibility

Moving your firm to Office 365 allows your entire team to access emails, calendars, documents, presentations, and more from anywhere with an internet connection. As more and more businesses are transitioning to an at-home office environment allowing employees to access their traditional Office applications from home is becoming a necessity. With Office 365, employees can switch between their desktops and laptops seamlessly.

2. Complete Mobility

As the world becomes more dependent on smart phones and tablets, it can often seem as though legacy software applications are the last ones to the party. Microsoft Office, however, was able to stay ahead of that trend when they released Office 365 in 2013. In the past five years, Office 365 has continued to make updates to ensure that it stays fully functional from your mobile devices. That way, you and your co-workers can continue to communicate and access important information whether you are on the go or at a client appointment out of the office, ensuring that no one misses a beat.

3. Easy Collaboration

Working together on a document, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, or any other office material has never been easier than it is using Office 365. You can share with your coworkers the most up-to-date versions of collaborative documents simply and quickly through the application. Those given access to the document can easily work collaboratively, sending edits back and forth in real time from wherever they are. This can help cut back on lengthy meeting times and the frustration of digging in muddled file folders for the most recent version of documents. Office 365 can help facilitate a smoother collaboration and quicker feedback.

These are just some of the reasons that our clients are making the move to Office 365. Whether you want to begin moving your firm to the cloud, or just want to make office communication easier, Office 365 may be the right answer for your firm.
